The NJspots Team started the New Year with new ideas and goals in mind. Bringing together the community has always been an important part of what we do. This year we are going to be introducing Workshops in addition to more meetups throughout the year. Unlike meetups which are big gatherings in amazing spots around New Jersey, the workshops are going to be more intimate settings with smaller groups of people. The workshops will have specific purposes and topics behind each one so that way more people can learn about different things that they may find interesting. The Best of 2018 Photo Contest was the first of it’s kind. Normally the NJspots contests are running on Instagram, but we wanted to open up the competition to be bigger than just Instagram users. With 126 photo entries, 3539 votes, and over 36,250 views this was one of the greatest contests we have hosted. Part of the Appalachian Trail, the Pochuck Boardwalk famous section of boardwalk hiking trail through the marshy lands of North New Jersey. The trail is located in Glenwood, New Jersey and starts off County Road 517. This serene and adventurous 1.5-mile section along the Appalachian Trail is a favorite among locals and also thru-hikers making the trek from Georgia to Maine.
